The active search has been called off.
I did not know Davey Johnson in any way except through his writings and a few interactions here and there while he was a part of the Jalopnik.
That being said, he was an talented contributor here, and he always personified the first, and most important, rule of Oppositelock: Be excellent to each other.
A lot of people are hurting over his loss, and our community is so much the worse without him.
Wherever you are, Davey Johnson - whether it be this world or the next - shine on, you crazy diamond, you.

I’d heard the search was called off yesterday....sad news. Hopefully they can find him ad his family can have closure...seems to be an unfortunate accident. :(

Fuckin A, this one hurt to hear (both this and the news when it broke).
Davey G was the reason I stuck around jalopnik in the first place, way back when. Everything about his articles was everything I looked forward to.
